#19 - Stepping out of the comfort zone, Aubrey Marcus, cold showers

1- Topic of the week

It sounds cliché, but it’s nonetheless true, growth begins at the end of your comfort zone.

This is one thing I learned from Tim Ferriss about five years ago and it’s a muscle that needs to be trained. There are a few things you can do, like staring at people in the eyes, smiling at people, taking cold showers, registering to an improv class, running a marathon, doing a psychotherapy, telling your mum you love her, telling your boss when something doesn’t work for you, talking to that chick in the bus.

The fear of feeling uncomfortable often prevents us from doing the right thing or what we truly want to do. It’s very important to recognise it and to train to get comfortable being uncomfortable. It truly gives you an edge.

The more you seek the uncomfortable, the more you will become comfortable.

2- Great content of the week

So this week I want to share with you a podcast with someone I really like and that is a master at stepping out of his comfort zone… Aubrey Marcus.

From Ayahuasca trips to open relationships, Aubrey Marcus constantly challenges himself.

By the way, relationships are one of the most important parts of personal growth so I’ll make a newsletter about it soon. And in general, if there is a subject you’d like me to touch on feel free to let me know!

Lots of testosterone in the newsletter this week. To balance it out, next week will be with Brené Brown on vulnerability 🙂

3- Challenge of the week

One way to step regularly out of your comfort zone, as expressed by Aubrey Marcus, is the cold shower. Taking cold shower has a lot of health benefits, but it is also a way to start the day out of your comfort zone. 💪

Let us know if you did it in Slack > #weekly_newsletter

4- UNLOCKT news

Definitely out of my comfort zone…

Definitely out of my comfort zone…

I’m back to Bondi for a week so I was happy to join back the acroyoga session. Thanks Isabel for organising 😘

At the moment, I’m focusing on the programs. I’m moving them onto a new platform. The people who bought a program will receive information to access the new platform. It will contain everything in one place, I’m pretty excited about it!

This month, I’ll have at least 3 podcasts:
- 1 with Kaushik Ram, neuroscientist, about survival,
- 1 with Matt Ringrose, my Vedic meditation teacher, about Vedic knowledge,
- 1 with Charlie Mana. I met him at Date with Destiny by Tony Robbins and will just be back from India where he learned to give a blessing.
And a potential 4th one with Kate, a vegan nutritionist I used to work with.

If you know people following their passion and who could do nice interviews, let me know.

Love,
Alex
