When you operate under fear or stress, you activate your sympathetic nervous system. The fight or flight response. It has its reason. Stress is useful when you need to focus and get all your energy to escape a dangerous situation.
However, in our modern day and age, with ever-increasing distractions and worries, we tend to be stressed all the time. This chronic stress affects our body’s ability to restore and it makes us age faster and get all kinds of disease. This is why I consider meditation to be so important.
On top of it, when you act out of stress or fear, your brain doesn’t function properly and you end up making pretty poor decisions.
